If you’re a wine enthusiast, you know that a valuable wine collection is more than a hobby — it’s an investment. Whether you’re moving across the Northern Beaches or relocating across Sydney, transporting wine requires far more care than the average household item. At Super Move, we specialise in premium relocations, including the safe handling of fragile and high-value items like wine.

Below is our expert guide on how to pack expensive wine collections to ensure they arrive at your new home in perfect condition.

1. Different Wines Need Different Packing

Pack red wine on it's side to prevent oxidisation

Pack champagne upright to prevent shaking or exploding

Tip: Use purpose-built wine boxes with dividers to keep bottles secure.

2. Maintain a Stable Temperature

Wine is highly sensitive to heat fluctuations. On moving day, try to avoid leaving your wine sitting in the sun, especially during Sydney’s warmer months.

What we recommend:

  • Move wine early in the morning or late evening

  • Keep the bottles in a temperature-stable environment (AC on during transport)

  • Avoid long breaks during the drive

3. Label Your Wine Boxes Clearly

Mark boxes as:📦 “Fragile – Wine Collection – This Side Up”

This helps your removalist's handle them with the same care you would.

4. Pack Bottles Individually

Use:

  • Bubble wrap

  • Foam bottle sleeves

  • Cardboard bottle dividers

The goal is to minimise movement and protect delicate labels.
